The Mighty Macs
In the early 70s, Cathy Rush becomes the head basketball coach at a tiny, all-girls Catholic college. Though her team has no gym and no uniforms -- and the school itself is in danger of being sold -- Coach Rush looks to steer her girls to their first national championship.

David Boreanaz to appear at 'Face-Off for Hope'
Entertainment and sports enthusiasts will gather for a great cause at the L.A. Kings charity kick off hockey game “Face-Off for Hope” benefiting City of Hope on January 2, 2010, at STAPLES Center immediately following the Kings-Washington Capitals game. A portion of proceeds from tickets sales and all ticket service fees will be donated to City of Hope, a leading research, treatment and education center for cancer and other life-threatening diseases. “Face-Off for Hope” kicks off “Month of Hope,” where the Kings are dedicating the entire month of January 2010 to support City of Hope.

Music artist Snoop Dogg has been named an honorary coach. Actors Cuba Gooding Jr., David Boreanaz, Shaun Sipos and Michael Vartan, director Jason Reitman and E! Entertainment’s Ken Baker will compete in teams. Luc Robitaille, Jeremy Roenick, Marty McSorley (commentator), Jim Fox (commentator), Russ Courtnall, Craig Johnson, Jamie Storr, Daryl Evans, Anson Carter, Ian Turnbull, Brad Norton, Jamie Kompon, J.F. Jomphe and John Blue will be representing the world of pro hockey.

“Raising awareness and support for City of Hope is the reason we are all coming together. We hope our fans enjoy this event while helping to raise funds and awareness for cancer and other life-threatening illnesses,” said Luc Robitaille, Kings President of Business Operations. “We encourage our fans to arrive early to see our exciting club take on Alexander Ovechkin and the Capitals, immediately followed by the special celebrity game. Get your tickets now for one of the most highly-anticipated, marquee games this year.”

Fans with a ticket to the NHL game will be allowed admission to “Face-Off for Hope” immediately following the Kings-Washington game, which begins at 1 p.m. During the Kings game, fans will have the opportunity to purchase “special drawing tickets” for a suggested donation of $10 toward winning select jerseys “off the backs” of participating celebrities. All proceeds from the drawing will benefit City of Hope.
