Get ready to take a trip back with the 100th episode of "Bones."

The David Boreanaz-directed milestone episode will air Thursday, April 8 at 8 p.m. ET/PT and will delve into the main characters' history and their curious dynamic.

"The Parts in the Sum of the Whole" centers on the first time Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Booth (Boreanaz) work a case together. Viewers will also get to see how the rest of the Jeffersonian crew began their relationships with each other.

"I'm so proud to stand by each and every cast and crew member on this momentous achievement of our 100th episode," said Boreanaz. "All the blood, sweat and tears has brought us to this moment. With each step we became a family, and with each step further I take on directing this episode as a friend. To 100! Salute!"

David Boreanaz expects to be seeing even more of his parents, now that his father, longtime weatherguy Dave Roberts, has retired from WPVI (Channel 6).

The star of Fox's "Bones," interviewed here during an informal Fox breakfast to promote the show's 100th episode in April, which he'll be directing, said that Roberts "has been working so hard his whole life that there comes a time when, you know, you just have to stop, and it was right for him and for his situation, and the best part of that is I'm able to spend more time with him."

Roberts has often visited the "Bones" set and will probably do so again, said his son.

"He'll be able to spend more time out here and it'll mean he doesn't have to be back in Philadelphia to work, so he'll be spending more time with me," Boreanaz said.

He'll also have more time with his California grandchildren. Boreanaz's daughter, Bardot, was born to wife Jaime Bergman on Aug. 31. The couple, also have a son, Jaden, who's 7.

"Everyone's great," and, the actor said, he's even getting sleep.

"We're blessed to have a child that goes down around 7:30 and gets up about maybe 5 to get a little bottle and that's it, and goes back to sleep till 7:30," he said. "Maybe it's a girl thing, I don't know."

How hard was it watching Saturday's 34-14 Eagles loss to Dallas?

"You know what? I knew that the game was over when I came in from the front door and my wife said, 'Donovan McNabb just threw a pass to a reporter on the sidelines. And he caught it.' I didn't have to hear anything else – I think I just continued playing with my son."
